Buyers do not need an account, so we collect very little from most visitors. Dealers who claim a storefront hold a small account with us. What follows covers both, in plain language.
What we do not collect
This matters more than the list below it. Searching for a firearm is not something anyone should have to justify, and the safest way to protect a search log is not to build one.
- No buyer accounts. Nothing to sign up for to search or browse.
- No purchase, payment or financial information of any kind — we never touch a transaction.
- No messages between buyers and sellers on scraped listings. Those happen on the source site; we never see them. Dealer storefronts expose a contact form that emails the dealer; we log the submission but do not read the reply thread.
- No advertising trackers, no data brokers, no cross-site advertising pixels.
- We do not sell, rent or trade any information about you to anyone.
Dealer accounts
If you operate a dealer storefront, we hold the account fields you provided during onboarding: business name, contact email, phone, website, city, and any logo or description you set. We use these to run the storefront and to reach you about your account. We do not share dealer account data with buyers beyond what appears on your public storefront page.
Buyer inquiries submitted through your storefront contact form are stored so nothing is lost
to a spam filter, and forwarded to your contact email with the buyer's address as the
Reply-To header — meaning your reply goes directly to
the buyer, not through us.
What we do collect
Server logs. Like any website, our servers record requests: IP address, timestamp, page requested, referrer and user agent. These are used for security, abuse prevention and debugging.
Search queries. Search terms appear in the URL and therefore in those logs. We use aggregate query data to decide which sources and categories to add. We do not build per-person search histories, and we do not attempt to identify individual users from queries.
Click-outs. When you click through to a source site we record which listing was clicked, along with a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us de-duplicate clicks without storing an address we could reverse. We use this only to understand which sources are useful.
Location, only if you offer it. If you type a city or ZIP, that value is used to filter results for that request. Browser geolocation is never read without your explicit permission, and you can decline and search by city name instead.
Cookies
We use only what is necessary to make the site work. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still function.
When you leave
Every listing links to a third-party site. We send outbound clicks with a
no-referrer policy, so the source site is not told which
search brought you there. Once you arrive, that site's privacy policy governs and it may
collect far more than we do. We have no control over and no visibility into what happens there.
Third parties who process data for us
Our hosting provider, CDN and image storage necessarily process requests on our behalf. They are bound to use that data only to provide their service to us.
Legal requests
We will respond to valid legal process. Because we hold so little — no buyer accounts, no transaction records, no message threads — there is generally very little to produce. Dealer account records and buyer-inquiry submissions may be produced when compelled.
Your choices
You can use the site without providing anything. To ask what we hold about an identifier, or to request deletion, email [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
Children
This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
